Hubby says I can buy no more books until I whittle this pile down some. I have to admit, I have a lot of reading to do, thanks to my birthday last month, and a lack of time since. I'm looking forward to taking a load off from the writing and editing the next couple of weeks and diving into some of these.
Have you read any and enjoyed them? (No spoilers!) Which should I go after first? *rubs hands together gleefully*

*grin* Oh dear, Gweenie! This is an obvious sign of an addict. *throws doilies over own TBR pile* *innocent* I think I've only read Storm Front. It's an all right read - interesting to see the differences between a male and female author. I don't remember much from it though... it has been a year since I read it, mind.
*glomps*
Hubby sounds a lot like one of my sisters, who refuses to buy me any more books for the same reason. Like you could ever have too many books! *sticks tongue out at Gwen's DH and my sis*
I haven't read any of these, though at least one is in my own TBR mountain range. Somewhere. I'll get to it eventually. Hehe...
PS. I'm thinking you're probably not going to be showing him the article I posted on my blog today, huh? ;)
I am ashamed to say that not only have I not read any, but I haven't actually heard of any of them.
Your TBR pile is so short compared to mine! I have about 100 in it, and it never gets any shorter.
You know, just because your B&N privileges have been suspended doesn't mean you can't visit Borders or even go to Amazon.com for books.
Chloe
Exactly, Chloe! I figured I'd order from amazon, put them on a credit card and have them delivered to my work, then slip them into the house on the down low.
Not that I've put any thought into it or anything . . . ;)
I haven't read any of them, either, and I've only heard of one of them (The Fiery Cross). :) But ACK, I've got a great big TBR pile and an even bigger TBA (to be acquired) pile, so I understand your dilemma!
For me it has to be Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I worship that woman. lol Her earlier books are perfect. :)
Just as well my hubby can't see how many books I have in my to-read pile. I'm reading one of the Harry Dresdin series at the moment, so you can't go wrong with Storm Front. I really enjoyed the first story in Gena Showalter's new series so I'd also vote for that one.
No matter which one you pick I foresee some great reading in your future!
That's true, Shelley! I'm not complaining... I looooove having a nice big pile ahead of me.
I think I might qualify as a book horder. *lol*
Oh! You have two of my favorite series represented. LOVE Diana Gabaldon's Claire & Jamie Fraser books. Also LOVE anything by Jim Butcher. If you haven't met Harry Dresden, get ready for a real treat!!
Have fun. You've earned it!!
Nice reading list! There are some real gems in there. Like you I have a huge TBR pile but can’t keep away from the paranormals. Read the entire Gabaldon series. She’s the exemplar for time traveling highlander stories. Great stuff. Just finished the final book in Carey’s 2nd Kushiel trilogy. Always on my recommended list to my friends. Read all of the Women of the Otherworld series, Kelley is also on my recommendation list. Sherrilyn Kenyon not so much but I look forward to your thoughts when you get to it. Charlaine Harris is addictive, looking forward to the HBO series this fall. I have the Mike Carey’s stuff on my wish list too. Rogue and the follow up were good. Read all the Queen Betsy stories but not the mer stories. Accidental Vampire was a hoot. All of the Argenault novels are great. Not read any Showalter. Your thoughts? Nightkeepers with all of the Mayan mythology was different from the usual and quite good for a first novel. Was unable to finish Through the Veil. Just couldn’t get into it. Butcher is always great. Enjoyed the Stacia Kane. The Chance and Arthur are both great. The Ione is on my wishlist. Drop over to my blog and check out some of my reviews. Might find something you would like to add to your TBR. There is no such thing as too many books.
Debbie - I'm a huge fan of the Outlander series, and looking forward to trying out the Dresden Files finally.
Wow, thanks SciFiGuy - I value your opinion and have enjoyed your reviews in the past. The Kushiel series is also among my top recommendations to my friends.
I have read the first 2 novels of Showalters new series and plan on reviewing them. I've also read one of Kenyon's books and have almost finished Night Pleasures, so I'll let you know soon.
I did read Dime Store Magic and am about a third into Industrial Magic, but having a hard time sticking with it. If IM doesn't do something to grab me, it will be a while before I pick up Bitten.
Thanks for stopping by, and appreciate your comments. =D
